Preparing Your car For Winter Driving

OPerformance. Keeping your engine tuned will add fuel mileage as well as horsepower. Manufacturers recommend 100,000 mile tune ups on some vehicles. Be careful this is only for the spark plugs. It does not cover the filters that should be changed at specific time intervals. Oil should be changed no more than 5 thousand miles. (Check with your owner's manual for different intervals). Don't forget the other fluids like transmission and differential fluids. These are just as important as engine oil. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for service. And have your vehicle serviced by a qualified technician (more on that in my later e-book).

Prior to 24 7 auto parts store near me , the cars will be open and can be inspected. Generally cars are driven in to the auction (or towed if necessary) so you can see (and hear) the vehicle in action. Two years ago we purchased a 1997 Ford Taurus for $900 (plus $150 in fees). The car needed new spark plugs (it was written on the windshield) which we bought at the local auto parts near me and drove home. In the glove box was the last owners promissory note. She still owed over $2,000 on the car--twice as much as we paid for it!

You will now need the special tensioner tool that you borrowed or purchased from the auto parts store near me. Place the tensioner tool on the nut at the end of the tensioner. With the tool securely on the nut carefully apply pressure up and toward the windshield of the car. This will cause the tensioner to slide up and back. Holding the tensioner in place loop the remaining length of belt under the tensioner and onto the alternator pulley.

It is important for one to look at where the damage is. Damage along the tracks is considered more difficult to fix as compared to any other damage that may be in place. Pinpointing where the problem is located will become very important before proceeding with any CD scratch remover.

After you have removed all traces of the previous adhesive, you will then want to add silicone to the mirror frame. It is best to use around 5 quarter-sized drops of silicone to allow for maximum security. The recommended type of silicone to use is economy type silicone, make sure that the silicone that you use will dry hard and not soft. The auto store near me will most likely carry the appropriate type of silicone, and if you have any questions, the sales associates will be able to help you.

To change the fuel filter you will want to begin by raising the front or rear of the vehicle depending on the location of the filter. Always support the vehicle with jack stands!!!
